The Dresner Foundation provided at $75,000 grant to plan the transition of one of Henry Ford’s two pediatric mobile clinics into a Breathmobile: A State of the Art Asthma Clinic on Wheels.

Details

Due to existing barriers, such as inadequate transportation, an estimated 60-70 percent of children
with asthma go without the medication and treatment they need in Detroit. With this grant, Henry Ford will be able to plan, schedule, and implement programming for the mobile clinic. The Breathmobile will allow Henry Ford Health System to deliver comprehensive asthma services to kidswhere they are – Detroit schools and community centers. Henry Ford Health System is working closely with the Detroit Health Department on the development of the Breathmobile program.
