Overview
The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation has awarded Autism Alliance of Michigan a $100,000 grant to train and educate community service providers and families to identify developmental milestones and key signs of autism.

Details
Children of color often experience delays in diagnosis and inaccurate diagnoses of autism, which contribute to the later onset of appropriate service initiation, increased academic disparities, and a greater divide in the achievement gap. Funds from the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation will support training for community service providers and families in under-resourced communities of Dearborn, Hamtramck, and Southwest Detroit.
