Overview

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation has awarded Big Green Colorado with a $50,000 grant. The funds will be used to construct the new Learning Garden at College View Elementary School and program support for seven (7) surrounding schools.

Details

Funds will allow Big Green to build another garden in the South Federal area of Denver and continue programmatic supports at seven surrounding elementary schools. These schools have a total of approximately 3,000 students currently enrolled and average a 93% Free and Reduced Lunch rate. Learning Gardens enhance kids’ opportunities to experience the benefits of real food and fosters an education of curiosity and dynamic learning styles.
