Empowering Our Youth: Denver’s Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)
2017
Overview
The Dresner Foundation provided a $10,000 grant to expand Denver CASA’s Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) a program that supports and empowers youth beyond the courtroom.
Details
YEP offers abused and neglected youth who are involved in both the Child Welfare and Juvenile Court System supportive environments in which they discuss pertinent and difficult topics, such as human trafficking and domestic violence, and opportunities to give back to their communities. Funding from the Dresner Foundation will expand YEP programming to 40 individuals in 2017 so that Denver youth can participate in workshops on financial literacy, nutrition, and workforce development.
