Colorado Youth for a Change Reengagement Program
The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation awarded Colorado Youth for a Change $10,000 to fund program expansion for the Reengagment Program.
Through its dropout prevention and reengagement programs, Colorado Youth for a Change has significantly contributed to a 42% reduction in the state’s dropout rate. The Reengagement Program re-enrolls youth in school and ensures that they get back on track to earn a diploma, by minimizing non-academic barriers through dedicated case management, family engagement, wraparound support services, and connection to community resources.
Support from the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation will fund program expansion by partially funding two AmeriCorps VISTA members who will increase outreach to disconnected and out-of-school Denver youth, and allow full-time Reengagement Specialists increased capacity for one-on-one case management and wraparound support services for more than 400 youth.
