Detroit Food & Entrepreneurship Academy

School-Based Leadership Program
2018

Overview

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation has awarded Detroit Food and Entrepreneurship Academy (DFEA) $150,000 over two years to support their School-Based Leadership Program.

Details

Funding will support DFEA’s School-Based Leadership Program: an academic year, after school program guiding students each year through the process of building their own triple-bottom-line food business, which considers people, planet, and profit. Students’ business projects are created to better the world through a youth designed mission. DFEA breaks the cycle of hunger, poverty, and lack of food access by engaging young people in the lifelong skills of culinary arts, business entrepreneurship, food systems, and financial literacy.
