Detroit Police Athletic League

Kids at the Corner Campaign
2017 – 2021

The Dresner Foundation provided $1 million over five years to the Detroit Police Athletic League’s Kids at the Corner Campaign, This grant will support the redevelopment and improvement of the Historic Detroit Tiger Stadium site to include a new headquarters, a multi-use playing field, a banquet center, and related facilities. This will also allow them to increase the number of children served.

Detroit Police Athletic League is chiefly focused on creating youth sport leagues. The organization runs traditional recreation programming in a variety of sports. In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Detroit Police Athletic League works to build character in young people through athletic, academic and leadership development programs.

With the redevelopment of the site of Historic Tiger Stadium into permanent headquarters for Detroit Police Athletic League, they will be able to offer volunteer and coaches training facilities and a safe and healthy playing field to serve Detroit’s youth for years to come.
