Access to Comprehensive Music Education and Instruction for Underserved Youth

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation awarded Detroit Symphony Orchestra $825,000 to increase exposure to live performing arts and provide musical instruction opportunities for underserved youth.

Support will be directed to the Educational Concert Series, which reaches an annual student audience of 11,000 children through three dynamic performances each season. Additionally, the DSO will deliver training opportunities to youth through its Civic Youth Ensembles, as well as triple the Vera and Joseph Dresner Allegro Ensemble program to include two new Detroit Public School Community District sites.
