Overview

The Dresner Foundation provided Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan a $60,000 grant to expand its School Food Mobile Pantry Program.

Details

The grant from the Dresner Foundation will help combat food insecurity for low-income and impoverished children as well as their families through Gleaner’s School Food Mobile Pantry Program.  Each month, School Food Mobile Pantry ensures that each participating family brings home a healthy mix of 30 pounds of food, at least 50 percent comprised of fresh vegetables and fruit.  Dresner funds will allow Gleaners to expand their mobile pantry deliveries in Southeast Michigan to an additional five schools — helping to feed 500 families each month.
