Overview
The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation provided the Heidelberg Arts Leadership Academy (HALA) a $25,000 grant to expand its art-based interdisciplinary education program.

Details
HALA is an arts-based education program for Detroit students in grades 4 through 12 in four schools: King High School, Southeastern High School, Marcus Garvey Academy, Cesar Chavez East. An additional three schools will enroll in the program based on funding. HALA consists of a variety of 10-week courses rooted in a five-prong approach of student-centered instruction, hand-on experiences, project-based learning, analysis skill-building, and critical thinking exercises. Sessions will run throughout the 2018-2019 school year.
