Overview

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation renewed support for Platteforum’s ArtLab: Improving academic success and graduation rates through arts education in Denver, Colorado. The $50,000 grant will be used for ArtLab expenses such as intern and artist stipends, program supplies, transportation and exhibition supplies.

Details

ArtLab, a year-round, out-of-school, paid internship program, provides under-resourced youth the opportunity to develop personal, academic and life skills, receive critical feedback, learn from professional artists and peers, and learn to work effectively as part of a team. Platteforum spends more than 230 hours each year with ArtLab interns which allows the teens to develop significant relationships with Platteforum staff and their peers and is the driving force behind the success of this program and the 99% graduation rate.
