The Friendship Circle

Lesson for Life 2.0
2016

Overview
The Dresner Foundation provided the Friendship Circle with a $50,000 grant to support enhancement of their Lesson for Life programming for children with special needs.

Detail
The Friendship Circle provides annual assistance and support to 2,700 individuals with special needs and their families through recreational, social, educational and vocational programming. Since 1994, our programming has enabled individuals with special needs to face the challenges of everyday living by preparing them with the skills necessary to become participating members of their communities.
Friendship Circle will introduce Lessons for Life 2.0. L4L 2.0 will provide a curriculum for the development of crucial social, cognitive, and emotional skills and an evaluative tool for assessing the progress of students with disabilities as tracked in their state mandated Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This program will develop and monitor these skills through the direct application of life skills in a controlled environment utilizing FC’s Weinberg Village.
