Forgotten Harvest

Healthy Food – Healthy Kids Summer Feeding and School Pantry Programs
2019

Overview

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation awarded Forgotten Harvest $125,000 to support the Healthy Foods, Healthy Kids Summer Feeding and School Pantry Programs.

Details

These two programs address the critical need to increase access to nutritious fresh food for food-insecure children in high-poverty, underserved metro Detroit neighborhoods during times when they lose access to school breakfast and lunch programs. As a result, nutritious lunches are provided to children during the summer and get fresh, healthy food into the home year-round to ensure that these children and their siblings are well fed in the evenings, on weekends, and during school vacations when they are away from school.
