The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation has awarded Figure Skating in Detroit $75,000, over three years, to offer new and expanded opportunities for young girls participating in its afterschool program.

Details
Support from the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation will offer opportunities for girls in the I Can Excel afterschool program in two key areas: College & Career Readiness programming and the Synchronized Skating Team. The College & Career Readiness component includes college campus visits, guest speakers from professional women leaders and a summer employment program. The Synchronized Skating Team will attract and retain higher-level skaters, as well as provide academic and leadership skills for post-secondary scholarships and future career opportunities.
