Overview

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation has awarded $200,000 to Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) to create an interactive neighborhood arts space in the Northwest Goldberg neighborhood of Detroit.

Details

Henry Ford Health System will revitalize a vacant commercial building and its property at 1411 Holden into a vibrant art destination and education and community meeting space called ArtBlock. It will feature five public art installations including two exterior murals, a curated interior display of stylized graffiti, a textile installation, and interactive, rideable, animal shaped, pedal-powered metal sculptures, all by Detroit-based artists. ArtBlock will offer youth and family programming with a focus on inclusive, accessible and high-quality workshops.
